Hair length matter on face shape?

okay, i have a really skinny oval face. All threw middle school i had long hair. like not too long but about 5-7 inches past my shoulders. I cut my hair last year short like just above my shoulders. Some people tell me to grow my hair back cuz my face is soo skinny while others tell me to keep it short because i have a skinny face.








i am not sure if this will make a diff. but i have thick brown hair. i was just wondering should i grow it back or keep it short.

Yes, hair and face shape make all the difference but I don't know what is best, just what looks wrong.


Ask a stylist, and they will know what length to layer things and if a style will just not suit you. Some have a program you can load your photo and try a few different styles.


Ask around, look for stars/models that have a similar shape to your face and see what hair style they have.

Reply:OMG if your face is anything like mines than I shouldn't have any problems answering this questions. Trust me stick to your long hair but sometimes two long could make your head seem longer than what it is. I think as for now you should only keep it between 2-4 inches beyond your shoulders. If you keep it short, I think people would notice your oval face. However I would advise you to stay away from center parts which make your face appear longer as well. I have long hair and a long face as well. I am African American but my hair is naturally curly and its long. It is probably 3 inches past my shoulders. I have a slanted bang and I love wearing it hanging or wavy curls which I make with curling iron which makes it shorter if I want to swtich up the style.
Reply:I was taught during my hairdressing training that oval face shape is the best for being able to handle any type of cut. Whether that be long or short as your face shape lends to either to be honest.
Reply:I think you should keep it at a medium length, one that isnt too long, because a skinny face with too long hair will like hide the face, but short thick hair isnt always the best, i'd see keep it about shoulder length, i think that always looks best especially with your type of face shape.
