My husband, who's only 21, gets these hot flush feelings on his face. He can usually feel a headache coming on around that time as well. I've taken his temperature and it is normal and sometimes he says the rest of his body is freezing. He's described it as feeling like heat is emanating from his nose and mouth (when he breathes), and skin. Also, he's said it feels like waves of heat, but only on his face? His skin on his face and body is cool to the touch. We've tried washing his face, because he's also said it feels like its coated with grease, but it doesn't help. It makes him so sick he needs to lie down and hours later, sometimes after a nap, he'll feel better.
What is this? Has anyone (particularly men) felt like this? What can help?
What does it mean when your face feels hot, while the rest of your body doesn't?
This sounds like a migraine. He should go to the doctor
Reply:Appleblossom - I'm actually responding to a question you asked a few days ago regarding body dysmorphic disorder and effexor. I have body dysmorphic disorder, and my psychiatrist put me on effexor b/c she said it's been shown to be effective in treating bdd. I've been on it for about 2.5 months now, and I'd definately say that it has helped greatly. I was taking 150mgs a day, and am now taking 225 mgs.
Reply:Sound like sudden rush of blood over the head region. Does his heart beats faster than normal? If he does not experience giddy spell when that happens, then it should be ok.
Guess the feeling is like when you balance yourself upright on both your hands, you will feel the rush of blood on your face. Other parts of body remain cold. No harm caused.
Reply:is it the flu maybe
