Face mites?

my budgie has face mites and i want to now how to get rid of them help plz

Face mites?
Since the birds face is very small and birds eyes are very sensitive to chemicals, you must not use any spray or dust, for a face treatment I use a regular "petroleum jelly" with a cu tip I apply to the effected areas, if it comes on feathers too do not worry after few bath it will be OK,

What petroleum jelly do, any mites that are alive will get stock on the gel, the gel will prevent the mite eggs to be hatched, after application to not provide bath water for a few days like 3-4 days, after 14 days even you don't see any mites on your Bird, mite eggs will be present, repeat the procedure to get of all the face mite, you have to clean the cage too, few days ago I had answered to similar question read and follow your feathered friend will thank you by his or her chirping.
Reply:If you bird has face mites, you need to get prescription medication from a veterinarian. Over the counter medications for such problems are not effective in curing the condition...
Reply:I used to breed parakeets/budgies. I used 7-Dust which you can get from KMart, Walmart or a garden shop.

Simply dust your bird with it as you would a cat or dog with flea powder, making sure to hold a cotton ball over their eyes.

7-Dust is made from dried up chrysanthemum flowers and is NOT toxic.

Clean the cage thoroughly to get rid of any eggs that may be present and repeat the dusting every few days if the itching continues.
Reply:bring the bird to the vet
