How do i make my face less oily?
Try adding more water to your diet and using an oil free cleanser if you're not already doing so. Also you can keep a pack of clean%26amp;clear's oil absorbing sheets; they're great for getting rid of that oily look to give your face a fresh appearance
Reply:Actually, oily skin is often caused by skin that is too dry and so the skin produces more oil than needed. washing oyur face compulsively is probably not the best choice. wash in the morning and use a good oilfree moisturizer (mary kay has a good "oil free hydrating jell"). though i am not an expert, i will say "try not to use foundation every day" because it clogspores and keeps the skin from breathing. I actually agree with using a light powder that you can apply with a brush. and those oil absorbing papers? those are handy. and wash again at night, using a moisturizer.
Reply:Apply a mixture of sandalwood powder, indian gram flour and rose water.
Reply:I use a regular bar soap like Ivory, and it really reduces oil without making your skin really tense. A lot of the acne specialized face washes can make it tingly and tight, but the Ivory soap doesn't do that. After that I use witch hazel (in a mixture with alcohol and aloe) to make my skin more toned. My skin is very sensitive and blotchy, so I also use a simple skin tone powder to make my skin more refined and smooth.

I don't know if this helps, but good luck anyway!
Reply:The best way is that don't put any cream. Have Green leafy veggies. This allows your skin to be healthy. Wash your face with a good face wash and you will look beautiful.
Reply:don't listen to n8tive 45 2006, cover up is just as bad as putting baby oil on your face!!! try washing your face 1-3 times a day with an oil free soap. wash it every morning when you wake up, when you take a shower and right before you go to bed. hope i helped!!!
Reply:Oily skin care

The first basic rule for oily skin care is to keep it clean so as to kill acne-causing bacteria. It is essential to unclog the pores with exfoliation to prevent breakouts. Washing your face with warm water and cleanser is preferable to using harsh soaps. Warm water helps in keeping the skin oil free. Antibacterial cleansing lotions can also be used to keep the skin acne-free. Mild acne medications have a drying effect on oily skin.

Choose cosmetics and facial care products with care. Oily skin make up items must be water-based since oil-based cosmetics can aggravate the oiliness and create blemishes. Clay masks and mud masks work well for oily skin. They remove the excess oil that is found in the skin. But do not excessively dry the upper layer of the skin with chemical products. Use of harsh products can leave the skin feeling taut and dehydrated. This may be counterproductive since the skin will produce more oil to compensate the loss. This is a reaction called 'reactive seborrhea', where the oil glands work at a frenetic pace to compensate for the loss of natural oils.

Treatment for oily skin

There is no magical cure for oily skin. Regular care and appropriate treatment of oily skin can go a long way in keeping it clean and blemish free. Massage your face with upward and outward motions when cleansing it. Using warm water to dissolve skin oil while washing it is a good treatment for oily skin. But do not use very hot water as it can strip the skin of essential oils. Do not expect results overnight. What is required is a holistic treatment of oily skin - internally and externally.

 White or pink clay masks gently cleanse oily skin of excess oil. The darker brown clay masks are stronger and more effective on very oily skins. Apply a clarifying facemask couple of times a week.

 Aromatherapy oils such as lemon, rosemary and cedar wood are said to be effective in treating oily skin. A few drops of any of these oils combined with lanolin can be massaged into the skin.

Dermatologists to tackle sensitive oily skins prescribe  Topical Vitamin derivatives with ingredients such as tretinoin and isotretinoin.

 Products containing Benzoyl Peroxide also form part of the treatment for oily skin. They unplug pores and reduce bacteria.

 Antibiotic creams and lotions such as erythromycin and clindamycin are effective in treating blemished oily skin.

 Lotions containing AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acids) can help oily skin become softer and smoother.

Home remedy for oily skin

Fruit acids have shown a positive effect in oily skin treatment. They remove oil from the skin and yet retain the moisture. Home remedies such as cucumber juice, limejuice and yogurt are effective in keeping oily skin under control. A mask of Aloe Vera, crushed strawberries and yogurt is an astringent for oily skin. Keep it on for about 15 minutes and rinse off with warm water. Some simple home remedies for oily skin:

1. Puree 1 egg white, 1-tsp. Lemon juice, 1-tsp. Mint and ½ cucumber and apply it on the face for about 15 minutes.

2. A puree of fresh tomatoes works wonders on oily skin.

3. A facemask of tomato, lemon juice and oats must be applied on the cheeks, forehead and chin. Scrub your face with warm water. This home remedy for oily skin is ideal for blemishes.

4. A clay mask is yet another home remedy for oily skin since it draws out excess oil.

5. If your skin is excessively oily, mix in a few drops of eau de cologne. This not only helps keep oiliness away but also helps in refining the pores of the skin by acting as astringent, thereby preventing acne.

Take a diet that is rich in proteins, with plenty of leafy vegetables and fresh fruits. Restrict sugar and high-fat foods and junk food. Supplement your food with wheat germ, nutritional yeast and whole grains, beans and nuts. Drink plenty of water to keep the skin hydrated and flush out toxins.

Make up for oily skin

Choose cosmetic and facial care products specifically designed for oily skin. Use oil-free moisturizers for a shine-free complexion. You can use an antiseptic day cream before applying makeup to oily skin. This will keep sebaceous secretions under control. Makeup for oily skin hinges on creating a matte effect.

You must use foundations that block out shine and non-pore clogging formula. Use concealer to hide blemishes and spots. Loose powder can keep you looking fresh all day long and absorb the excess oil too. Most women with oily skin cant do without this makeup item. Powder blushes work well on oily skin than cream blushers.

SKIN CARE

Cleansing

Cleansing is the first essential step in your daily skin care routine.

Cleansing the face 2-3 times a day; is adequate for normal skin. If your skin is oily a more frequent cleansing i.e. 4-5 times a day is necessary. If your skin is dry it is best to avoid frequent washing and you may have to use a suitable oil-based cosmetic cleanser instead of soap, which has a dry effect.

There are several alternatives to soap and water cleansing. Cleansers can be in the form of creams, milks, lotions, gels and liquids. All are, a mixture of oil, wax and water, which have been formulated to suit different skin types. A cotton -pad dipped in fresh milk available at home, is an equally effective cleanser.

The right way to apply cleansers and creams on your face is in an upward and outward movement. The skin should not be stretched, dragged or pulled. Leave the cleanser on for a minute or two so as to loosen the dirt and make up. Remove it either using a cotton wool or with a tissue paper, again using an upward and out ward movement. Finally rinse with water.

Masks

Basically all face masks have some sort of a cleansing action. Various ingredients are used in the masks, depending on the skin type. Clay, form an important constituent of many facemasks. They help to remove dirt, sebum, and dead skin so that the skin looks clean, soft and youthful.

Fuller’s earth is a special type of clay often used in face packs. It contains aluminum silicate. As it dries on the skin, it absorbs the superficial dead cells and blots up any excessive oil on the skin. It is therefore excellent for an oily skin but should not be used on dry skin. Kaolin is also fine clay that has been used for tummy upsets because it absorbs toxins from the system. It removes grime, oils and dead cells. Kaolin is also best for oily skin and best avoided for dry skin.

Another ingredient of some of the masks is the peeling or the exfoliating agent-these remove the top layer of dead cells from the skin, leaving behind fresh youthful skin. Oatmeal and bran are the commonly used peelers. Oatmeal is obtained from oats that is rich in Vitamin B and Vitamin E

Also added to many masks are natural ingredients-cucumbers, curds, lemon juice and Brewer's Yeast. It restores the acid / alkali balance of the skin.
Reply:hmm...first, keep your face clean always. wash your face with a mild soap. an unscented soap would be better. then, if you're outside and you could feel the oil shining your face again, you could use one of those oil absorbing films or paper. it doesn't really remove all of the oil, but it hepls minimize the supershine.

it's okay to have oily face since you won't get too much wrinkles when you get old.

don't forget to moisturize. yes you read that right. moisturize. oily skinned people also get dry skin especially in air conditioned rooms. so make sure to apply WATER based moisturizers when you're about to expose yourself to very cold areas.(don't worry, water based moisturizers won't make your face shinier and oilier)
Reply:try a compact powder.. that matches your skin of course.. of some kind of powder you can put on ur face to make it look less oily
Reply:Try using an astringent, like witch hazel, it really does a great job, of getting rid of the oil, on you skin.
Reply:Wash your face compulsively. That's the best I have.
Reply:you are apply some gel to control the t-zone oil. (it is different than day cream.) when you find yourself oily, u can apply the product to absorb the oil. they will become dry quickly. besides, you can also select some day cream which have control-oil function.) For me, i always apply day cream then t-mat (fm Chanel, not expensive. trust me) and sunscreeen.

always bring oil-absorbing paper in yr handbags, it does help a lot while you can't apply the gel. and ;) more convenient
Reply:Drink a lot of water and avoid junk food. Wash your face with a oil-free soap.
